My front lawn in February (yes, it does snow in Texas. Occasionally.)
My backyard in June
My 'hood
My Loyalty
My Community
(I forced my kids to pick up trash during Spring Break.
Doing something worthwhile and, at the same time, not annoying me. Win/win.)
My favorite thing about Spring
It's Texas, Y'all. I'm a Texan Transplant, but it still feels like home to me.

How funny... I am from Texas also and I used a picture of the snow from February! LOL too funny
Loved the pictures - and of course it feels like home. Texas has a way of doing that. I miss bluebonnets.
That's good when you can get the kids doing something worthwhile on their own! Good for you!
I like you no anonymous comment graphic! I did my post about this for writer's workshop today in response to the what makes me mad prompt. Here's the link to it if you get a chance to visit: http://karenzemek.blogspot.com/2010/10/what-makes-you-mad-and-what-are-you.html
That kinda does look like a hood. Hope it's not your pillars in your front yard because you might be mildly offended. If it is, just collect that Mickey D's bag and you should be good to go:)
Or, is that a KFC box?! Either way, pick it up and things will improve dramatically. Unless that's not your house, and then, by all means, drive, FAST!
Bluebonnets are one of my favorite things about TX too.
My oldest brother considers himself a Texan, even though he spent the first 18 years of his life in the Northeast.
And getting the kids to clean up litter AND get out of your hair - genius!
I am so not from Texas but... I have very similar views from my home... all of them but the row of mailboxes... the perk to living at the end of a dirt road at the end of a cul-de-sac!
And yes, I too am a mean Mom and make my kids do stuff to keep the community clean and beautiful... I tell them it is to teach them to appreciate and have humility, but you and I know it's really all about having a few minues of peace and quiet!
I love how you captured your home. :)
I love Texas. :)
I, too, LOVE TEXAS! Ain't it great, y'all? ;O)
I love all your pics! I have been absent in the blogging community lately, sorry!
You need to flip that flag photo. Otherwise, completely and totally beautiful.
I live in the middle of South Texas and I love it. It's almost the same as in your pictures. I miss the changing of the seasons though ... I used to live in El Paso where it snowed every year. But now it's just warm, hot, warm, cold but I love it cause it's no where else but Texas.
